The fishcarvings take much more time.  It normally takes me 10 to 15 hours to complete the carving  and another 5 hours to sand it properly.  The fish are then sealed with wood sealer, primed and then painted with transparent water-based paint.  Each layer of paint builds upon another. The final product is then sprayed with 6 coats of lacquer to preserve it.  Total time to finish is around 30 hours. All fish have glass eyes and are mounted on either a beautiful handcrafted walnut base, plaque or if the customer wishes, a rock base.
